Winnipesaukee Lake – July 2nd, 2006

July 6, 2006

Headed up to lake Winni and launched out of Wolfborough with my nephew Nelson for some salmon / laker fishing. We trolled 2 leadcore lines out of the bay and got a 16-17 inch salmon right off on a orange / gold db smelt at about 4 colors down. Lost it at the boat trying to net it but I’m still going to count it. 🙂 After that we pulled up a bass as we were heading towards the islands.

We headed for Rattlesnake island and trolled over 80-100 feet of water with the same setup and got a 10 inch salmon on a green spotted Top gun. Then we decided to try for some smallie action and ripped some spinnerbaits through winter harbor for a bit. Was windy enough to throw a spinnerbait but the boats coming and going plus the wind made it a tough position.

Trolled some more and got another small samon off the edge of Parker island on the same db smelt lure.

We got into back bay to load up and fished in there for bass for a bit. Caught a largemouth and Nelson said he had some followers. We were out of the water and off to my 1:30 PM softball game by noon.

Gorham Pond – Dunbarton, NH – July 1st, 2006

July 1, 2006

I went fishing with my best friend again today; Ryan. Ryan was just as excited as I was. Ryan caught a very nice sun fish. It was beautiful with lots of colors and it put up a great fight. We watched and waited for the bobber to tell us when a fish was eating the worm. The bobber went bloop, bloop and Ryan set the hook on this monster of a fish. Ryan reeled it in all by himself on his fishing pole.

What was funny was that all I was catching was weeds. Ryan made me feel better though and said, “daddy, I want to catch some weeds too”. And he did just that.

We fished only for about 2 hours but it was a blast to get out with him and be able to do this with just the two of us.
